Psalm 20

GNT 1 May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble! May the God of Jacob protect you! NIV 1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. GNT 2 May he send you help from his Temple and give you aid from Mount Zion. NIV 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. GNT 3 May he accept all your offerings and be pleased with all your sacrifices. NIV 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. "Selah" GNT 4 May he give you what you desire and make all your plans succeed. NIV 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. GNT 5 Then we will shout for joy over your victory and celebrate your triumph by praising our God. May the Lord answer all your requests. NIV 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. GNT 6 Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his chosen king; he answers him from his holy heaven and by his power gives him great victories. NIV 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. GNT 7 Some trust in their war chariots and others in their horses, but we trust in the power of the Lord our God. NIV 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. GNT 8 Such people will stumble and fall, but we will rise and stand firm. NIV 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. GNT 9 Give victory to the king, O Lord; answer us when we call. NIV 9 O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!
