DBY 1 {To the chief Musician. Upon Aijeleth-Shahar. A Psalm of David.} My God, my ·God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou] far from my salvation, from the words of my groaning? NIV 1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? DBY 3 And thou art holy, thou that dwellest amid the praises of Israel. NIV 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. DBY 4 Our fathers confided in thee: they confided, and thou didst deliver them. NIV 4 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. DBY 5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered; they confided in thee, and were not confounded. NIV 5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed. DBY 6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and the despised of the people. NIV 6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.
