Psalm 25

DBY 1 {[A Psalm] of David.} Unto thee, Jehovah, do I lift up my soul. NIV 1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; DBY 2 My God, I confide in thee; let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. NIV 2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. DBY 3 Yea, none that wait on thee shall be ashamed: they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause. NIV 3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. DBY 4 Make me to know thy ways, O Jehovah; teach me thy paths. NIV 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; DBY 5 Make me to walk in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. NIV 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. DBY 6 Remember, Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy loving-kindnesses; for they are from everlasting. NIV 6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. DBY 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to thy loving-kindness remember thou me, for thy goodness' sake, Jehovah. NIV 7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. DBY 8 Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore will he instruct sinners in the way: NIV 8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. DBY 9 The meek will he guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way. NIV 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. DBY 10 All the paths of Jehovah are loving-kindness and truth for such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. NIV 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. DBY 11 For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, thou wilt indeed pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. NIV 11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. DBY 12 What man is he that feareth Jehovah? him will he instruct in the way [that] he should choose. NIV 12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. DBY 13 His soul shall dwell in prosperity, and his seed shall inherit the earth. NIV 13 He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land. DBY 14 The secret of Jehovah is with them that fear him, that he may make known his covenant to them. NIV 14 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. DBY 15 Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah; for he will bring my feet out of the net. NIV 15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. DBY 16 Turn toward me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted. NIV 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. DBY 17 The troubles of my heart are increased: bring me out of my distresses; NIV 17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish. DBY 18 Consider mine affliction and my travail, and forgive all my sins. NIV 18 Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. DBY 19 Consider mine enemies, for they are many, and they hate me [with] cruel hatred. NIV 19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me! DBY 20 Keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I trust in thee. NIV 20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. DBY 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. NIV 21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. DBY 22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. NIV 22 Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
