Psalm 26

NLT 1 A psalm of David. Declare me innocent, O LORD, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. NIV 1 Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. NLT 2 Put me on trial, LORD, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and affections. NIV 2 Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; NLT 3 For I am constantly aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. NIV 3 for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth. NLT 4 I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. NIV 4 I do not sit with deceitful men, nor do I consort with hypocrites; NLT 5 I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. NIV 5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked. NLT 6 I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O LORD, NIV 6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, O LORD, NLT 7 singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your miracles. NIV 7 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. NLT 8 I love your sanctuary, LORD, the place where your glory shines. NIV 8 I love the house where you live, O LORD, the place where your glory dwells. NLT 9 Don't let me suffer the fate of sinners. Don't condemn me along with murderers. NIV 9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with bloodthirsty men, NLT 10 Their hands are dirty with wicked schemes, and they constantly take bribes. NIV 10 in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes. NLT 11 But I am not like that; I do what is right. So in your mercy, save me. NIV 11 But I lead a blameless life; redeem me and be merciful to me. NLT 12 I have taken a stand, and I will publicly praise the LORD. NIV 12 My feet stand on level ground; in the great assembly I will praise the LORD.
