The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? CSB 2 When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell. NIV 3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. CSB 4 I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking [Him] in His temple. NIV 4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. CSB 5 For He will conceal me in His shelter in the day of adversity; He will hide me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high on a rock. NIV 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. CSB 6 Then my head will be high above my enemies around me; I will offer sacrifices in His tent with shouts of joy. I will sing and make music to the Lord. NIV 6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD. CSB 7 Lord, hear my voice when I call; be gracious to me and answer me. NIV 7 Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me. CSB 8 In Your behalf my heart says, "Seek My face." Lord, I will seek Your face. NIV 8 My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek. CSB 9 Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away in anger. You have been my help; do not leave me or abandon me, God of my salvation. NIV 9 Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior. CSB 10 Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord cares for me. NIV 10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me. CSB 11 Because of my adversaries, show me Your way, Lord, and lead me on a level path. NIV 11 Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. CSB 12 Do not give me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing violence.
