Psalm 27:1-6

DBY 1 {[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? NIV 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? DBY 2 When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. NIV 2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. DBY 3 If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident. NIV 3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. DBY 4 One [thing] have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple. NIV 4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. DBY 5 For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock. NIV 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. DBY 6 And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah. NIV 6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
