Psalm 28

NIRV 1 Lord, my Rock, I call out to you. Pay attention to me. If you remain silent, I will die. I will be like those who have gone down into the grave. NIV 1 To you I call, O LORD my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit. NIRV 2 Hear my cry for your favor when I call out to you for help. Hear me when I lift up my hands in prayer toward your Most Holy Room. NIV 2 Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place. NIRV 3 Don't drag me away with sinners. Don't drag me away with those who do evil. They speak in a friendly way to their neighbors. But their hearts are full of hatred. NIV 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. NIRV 4 Pay them back for their evil actions. Pay them back for what their hands have done. Give them exactly what they should get. NIV 4 Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back upon them what they deserve. NIRV 5 They don't care about the Lord's mighty acts. They don't care about what his hands have done. So he will tear them down. He will never build them up again. NIV 5 Since they show no regard for the works of the LORD and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again. NIRV 6 Give praise to the Lord. He has heard my cry for his favor. NIV 6 Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. NIRV 7 The LORD gives me strength. He is like a shield that keeps me safe. My heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart jumps for joy. I will sing and give thanks to him. NIV 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. NIRV 8 The LORD gives strength to his people. He guards and saves his anointed king. NIV 8 The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. NIRV 9 Save your people. Bless those who belong to you. Be their shepherd. Take care of them forever. NIV 9 Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.
