Psalm 3

CJB 1 A psalm of David, when he fled from Avshalom his son: ADONAI, how many enemies I have! How countless are those attacking me; NIV 1 O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! CJB 2 how countless those who say of me, "There is no salvation for him in God." (Selah) NIV 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." "Selah" CJB 3 But you, ADONAI, are a shield for me; you are my glory, you lift my head high. NIV 3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. CJB 4 With my voice I call out to ADONAI, and he answers me from his holy hill. (Selah) NIV 4 To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. "Selah" CJB 5 I lie down and sleep, then wake up again, because ADONAI sustains me. NIV 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. CJB 6 I am not afraid of the tens of thousands set against me on every side. NIV 6 I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. CJB 7 Rise up, ADONAI! Save me, my God! For you slap all my enemies in the face, you smash the teeth of the wicked. NIV 7 Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. CJB 8 Victory comes from ADONAI; may your blessing rest on your people. (Selah) NIV 8 From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. "Selah"
