Psalm 3

DBY 1 {A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.} Jehovah, how many are they that trouble me, many they that rise up against me! NIV 1 O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! DBY 2 Many say of my soul, There is no salvation for him in God. Selah. NIV 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." "Selah" DBY 3 But thou, Jehovah, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. NIV 3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. DBY 4 With my voice will I call to Jehovah, and he will answer me from the hill of his holiness. Selah. NIV 4 To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. "Selah" DBY 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for Jehovah sustaineth me. NIV 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. DBY 6 I will not fear for myriads of the people that have set themselves against me round about. NIV 6 I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. DBY 7 Arise, Jehovah; save me, my God! For thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone, thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. NIV 7 Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. DBY 8 Salvation is of Jehovah; thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. NIV 8 From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. "Selah"
