NKJV 1 A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. NIV 1 O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! NKJV 2 Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God." Selah NIV 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." "Selah" NKJV 3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. NIV 3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. NKJV 4 I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah NIV 4 To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. "Selah" NKJV 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. NIV 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. NKJV 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around. NIV 6 I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. NKJV 7 Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. NIV 7 Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. NKJV 8 Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah NIV 8 From the LORD comes deliverance.
