Psalm 30

RHE 1 (29-1) <A psalm of a canticle, at the dedication of David’s house.> (29-2) I will extol thee, O Lord, for thou hast upheld me: and hast not made my enemies to rejoice over me. NIV 1 I will exalt you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. RHE 2 (29-3) O Lord my God, I have cried to thee, and thou hast healed me. NIV 2 O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. RHE 3 (29-4) Thou hast brought forth, O Lord, my soul from hell: thou hast saved me from them that go down into the pit. NIV 3 O LORD, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit. RHE 4 (29-5) Sing to the Lord, O ye his saints: and give praise to the memory of his holiness. NIV 4 Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. RHE 5 (29-6) For wrath is in his indignation; and life in his good will. In the evening weeping shall have place, and in the morning gladness. NIV 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. RHE 6 (29-7) And in my abundance I said: I shall never be moved. NIV 6 When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken." RHE 7 (29-8) O Lord, in thy favour, thou gavest strength to my beauty. Thou turnedst away thy face from me, and I became troubled. NIV 7 O LORD, when you favored me, you made my mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. RHE 8 (29-9) To thee, O Lord, will I cry: and I will make supplication to my God. NIV 8 To you, O LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: RHE 9 (29-10) What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth? NIV 9 "What gain is there in my destruction, in my going down into the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? RHE 10 (29-11) The Lord hath heard, and hath had mercy on me: the Lord became my helper. NIV 10 Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me; O LORD, be my help." RHE 11 (29-12) Thou hast turned for me my mourning into joy: thou hast cut my sackcloth, and hast compassed me with gladness: NIV 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, RHE 12 (29-13) To the end that my glory may sing to thee, and I may not regret: O Lord my God, I will give praise to thee for ever. NIV 12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.
