WEB 1 <<For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm by David.>> Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. Give me relief from my distress. Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. NIV 1 Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. WEB 2 You sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor? Will you love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah. NIV 2 How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ? "Selah" WEB 3 But know that Yahweh has set apart for himself him who is godly: Yahweh will hear when I call to him. NIV 3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. WEB 4 Stand in awe, and don't sin. Search your own heart on your bed, and be still. Selah. NIV 4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. "Selah" WEB 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness. Put your trust in Yahweh. NIV 5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD. WEB 6 Many say, "Who will show us any good?" Yahweh, let the light of your face shine on us. NIV 6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. WEB 7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and their new wine are increased. NIV 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. WEB 8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, For you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. NIV 8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
