Psalm 47

NLT 1 For the choir director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah. Come, everyone, and clap your hands for joy! Shout to God with joyful praise! NIV 1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. NLT 2 For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. NIV 2 How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth! NLT 3 He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet. NIV 3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. NLT 4 He chose the Promised Land as our inheritance, the proud possession of Jacob's descendants, whom he loves. Interlude NIV 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. "Selah" NLT 5 God has ascended with a mighty shout. The LORD has ascended with trumpets blaring. NIV 5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets. NLT 6 Sing praise to God, sing praises; sing praise to our King, sing praises! NIV 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. NLT 7 For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm! NIV 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. NLT 8 God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne. NIV 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. NLT 9 The rulers of the world have gathered together. They join us in praising the God of Abraham. For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere. NIV 9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.
