Psalm 50

CSB 1 God, the Lord God speaks; He summons the earth from east to west. NIV 1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. CSB 2 From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God appears in radiance. NIV 2 From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. CSB 3 Our God is coming; He will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes Him, and a storm rages around Him. NIV 3 Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages. CSB 4 On high, He summons heaven and earth in order to judge His people. NIV 4 He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people: CSB 5 "Gather My faithful ones to Me, those who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice." NIV 5 "Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice." CSB 6 The heavens proclaim His righteousness, for God is the judge. Selah NIV 6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge. "Selah" CSB 7 "Listen, My people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel. I am God, your God. NIV 7 "Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God. CSB 8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or for your burnt offerings, which are continually before Me. CSB 16 But God says to the wicked: "What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips? NIV 16 But to the wicked, God says: "What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? CSB 17 You hate instruction and turn your back on My words. NIV 17 You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you. CSB 18 When you see a thief, you make friends with him, and you associate with adulterers. NIV 18 When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers. CSB 19 You unleash your mouth for evil and harness your tongue for deceit. NIV 19 You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit. CSB 20 You sit, maligning your brother, slandering your mother's son. NIV 20 You speak continually against your brother and slander your own mother's son. CSB 21 You have done these things, and I kept silent; you thought I was just like you. But I will rebuke you and lay out the case before you. NIV 21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face. CSB 22 "Understand this, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no rescuer. NIV 22 "Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue: CSB 23 Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God." NIV 23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."
