WEB 1 <<A Psalm by Asaph.>> The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, And calls the earth from sunrise to sunset. NIV 1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. WEB 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth. NIV 2 From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. WEB 3 Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very tempestuous around him. NIV 3 Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages. WEB 4 He calls to the heavens above, To the earth, that he may judge his people: NIV 4 He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people: WEB 5 "Gather my saints together to me, Those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice." NIV 5 "Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice." WEB 6 The heavens shall declare his righteousness, For God himself is judge. Selah. NIV 6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge. "Selah" WEB 7 "Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God. NIV 7 "Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God. WEB 8 I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. NIV 8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are ever before me. WEB 9 I have no need for a bull from your stall, Nor male goats from your pens. NIV 9 I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, WEB 10 For every animal of the forest is mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. NIV 10 for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. WEB 11 I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine. NIV 11 I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine. WEB 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, For the world is mine, and all that is in it. NIV 12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. WEB 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? NIV 13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? WEB 14 Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High. NIV 14 Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, WEB 15 Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me." NIV 15 and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me." WEB 16 But to the wicked God says, "What right do you have to declare my statutes, That you have taken my covenant on your lips, NIV 16 But to the wicked, God says: "What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? WEB 17 Seeing you hate instruction, And throw my words behind you? NIV 17 You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you. WEB 18 When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have participated with adulterers. NIV 18 When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers. WEB 19 "You give your mouth to evil. You harnesses your tongue for deceit. NIV 19 You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit. WEB 20 You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother's son. NIV 20 You speak continually against your brother and slander your own mother's son. WEB 21 You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that the "I AM" was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes. NIV 21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face. WEB 22 "Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver. NIV 22 "Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue: WEB 23 Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, And prepares his way so that I will show God's salvation to him." NIV 23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."
