Psalm 6

ESV 1 O LORD, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath. NIV 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. ESV 2 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled. NIV 2 Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. ESV 3 My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD--how long? NIV 3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? ESV 4 Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. NIV 4 Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. ESV 5 For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise? NIV 5 No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ? ESV 6 I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. NIV 6 I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. ESV 7 My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows weak because of all my foes. NIV 7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. ESV 8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil, for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. NIV 8 Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. ESV 9 The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD accepts my prayer. NIV 9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. ESV 10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment. NIV 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
