Psalm 6

NAS 1 O LORD , do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath. NIV 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. NAS 2 Be gracious to me, O LORD , for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD , for my bones are dismayed. NIV 2 Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. NAS 3 And my soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O LORD -how long ? NIV 3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? NAS 4 Return, O LORD , rescue my soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness. NIV 4 Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. NAS 5 For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks? NIV 5 No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ? NAS 6 I am weary with my sighing; Every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my tears. NIV 6 I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. NAS 7 My eye has wasted away with grief; It has become old because of all my adversaries. NIV 7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. NAS 8 Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping. NIV 8 Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. NAS 9 The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer. NIV 9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. NAS 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed. NIV 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
