Psalm 61

BBE 1 <To the chief music-maker. On a corded instrument. Of David.> Let my cry come to you, O God; let your ears be open to my prayer. NIV 1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. BBE 2 From the end of the earth will I send up my cry to you, when my heart is overcome: take me to the rock which is over-high for me. NIV 2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. BBE 3 For you have been my secret place, and my high tower from those who made war on me. NIV 3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. BBE 4 I will make your tent my resting-place for ever: I will keep myself under the cover of your wings. (Selah.) NIV 4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. "Selah" BBE 5 For you, O God, have made answer to my prayers; you have given me the heritage of those who give honour to your name. NIV 5 For you have heard my vows, O God; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. BBE 6 You will give the king long life; and make his years go on through the generations. NIV 6 Increase the days of the king's life, his years for many generations. BBE 7 May the seat of his authority be before God for ever; may mercy and righteousness keep him safe. NIV 7 May he be enthroned in God's presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him. BBE 8 So will I make songs in praise of your name for ever, giving to God that which is right day by day. NIV 8 Then will I ever sing praise to your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
