Psalm 62

BBE 1 <To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David.> My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation. NIV 1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. BBE 2 He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. NIV 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. BBE 3 How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling? NIV 3 How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down-- this leaning wall, this tottering fence? BBE 4 Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.) NIV 4 They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. "Selah" BBE 5 My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope. NIV 5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. BBE 6 He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. NIV 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. BBE 7 In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place. NIV 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. BBE 8 Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.) NIV 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. "Selah" BBE 9 Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath. NIV 9 Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. BBE 10 Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it. NIV 10 Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. BBE 11 Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's: NIV 11 One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, BBE 12 And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work. NIV 12 and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.
