Psalm 62

RHE 1 (61-1) <Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David.> (61-2) Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation. NIV 1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. RHE 2 (61-3) For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more. NIV 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. RHE 3 (61-4) How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence. NIV 3 How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down-- this leaning wall, this tottering fence? RHE 4 (61-5) But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart. NIV 4 They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. "Selah" RHE 5 (61-6) But be thou, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience. NIV 5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. RHE 6 (61-7) For he is my God and my saviour: he is my helper, I shall not be moved. NIV 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. RHE 7 (61-8) In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God. NIV 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. RHE 8 (61-9) Trust in him, all ye congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever. NIV 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. "Selah" RHE 9 (61-10) But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive. NIV 9 Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. RHE 10 (61-11) Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them. NIV 10 Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. RHE 11 (61-12) God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God, NIV 11 One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, RHE 12 (61-13) And mercy to thee, O Lord; for thou wilt render to every man according to his works. NIV 12 and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.
