Psalm 87

RSV 1 A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded; NIV 1 He has set his foundation on the holy mountain; RSV 2 the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. NIV 2 the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. RSV 3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. [Selah] NIV 3 Glorious things are said of you, O city of God: "Selah" RSV 4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia--"this one was born there," they say. NIV 4 "I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me-- Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush-- and will say, 'This one was born in Zion.' " RSV 5 And of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; for the Most High himself will establish her. NIV 5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her." RSV 6 The LORD records as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." [Selah] NIV 6 The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: "This one was born in Zion." "Selah" RSV 7 Singers and dancers alike say, "All my springs are in you." NIV 7 As they make music they will sing, "All my fountains are in you."
