TYN 1 The reuelacion of Iesus Christe which god gave vnto him for to shewe vnto his servauntes thinges which muste shortly come to passe. And he sent and shewed by his angell vnto his servaunt Ihon NIV 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, TYN 2 which bare recorde of the worde of god and of the testimony of Iesus Christe and of all thinges yt he sawe. NIV 2 who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. TYN 3 Happy is he that redith and they that heare the wordes of the prophesy and kepe thoo thinges which are written therin. For the tyme is at honde. NIV 3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. TYN 4 Ihon to the .vii. congregacios in Asia. Grace be with you and peace from him which is and which was and which is to come and from the .vii. spretes which are present before his trone NIV 4 John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, TYN 5 and from Iesus Christ which is a faythfull witnes and fyrst begotte of the deed: and Lorde over the kinges of the erth. Vnto him that loved vs and wesshed vs fro synnes in his awne bloud NIV 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, TYN 6 and made vs kinges and Prestes vnto God his father be glory and dominion for ever more. Amen. NIV 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. TYN 7 Beholde he commeth with cloudes and all eyes shall se him: and they also which peersed him. And all kinredes of ye erth shall wayle. Even so. Amen. NIV 7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. TYN 8 I am Alpha and Omega the begynninge and the endinge sayth the Lorde almyghty which is and which was and which is to come. NIV 8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." TYN 9 I Ihon youre brother and companyon in tribulacion and in the kyngdom and pacience which is in Iesu Christe was in the yle of Pathmos for the worde of god and for ye witnessynge of Iesu Christe. NIV 9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. TYN 10 I was in the sprete on a sondaye and herde behynde me a gret voyce as it had bene of a trompe NIV 10 On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, TYN 11 sayinge: I am Alpha and Omega the fyrst and the laste. That thou seist write in a boke and sende it vnto the congregacions which are in Asia vnto Ephesus and vnto Smyrna and vnto Pargamos and vnto Thiatira and vnto Sardis and vnto Philadelphia and vnto Laodicia. NIV 11 which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea." TYN 12 And I turned backe to se the voyce that spake to me. And when I was turned: I sawe .vii golde candelstyckes NIV 12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, TYN 13 and in the myddes of the cadelstyckes one lyke vnto ye sone of ma clothed with a lynnen garmet doune to the ground and gyrd aboute the pappes with a golden gyrdle NIV 13 and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. TYN 14 His heed and his heares were whyte as whyte woll and as snowe: and his eyes were as a flame of fyre: NIV 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. TYN 15 and his fete lyke vnto brasse as though they brent in a fornace: and his voyce as the sounde of many waters. NIV 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. TYN 16 And he had in his right honde vii. starres. And out of his mouth wet a sharpe twoo edged swearde. And his face shone eve as the sonne in his strength. NIV 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. TYN 17 And when I sawe him I fell at his fete even as deed. And he layde hys ryght honde apon me sayinge vnto me: feare not. I am the fyrst and the laste NIV 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. TYN 18 and am alyve and was deed. And beholde I am alyve for ever more and have the kayes of hell and of deeth. NIV 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. TYN 19 wryte therfore the thynges which thou haste sene and the thynges which are and the thynges which shalbe fulfylled hereafter: NIV 19 "Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later. TYN 20 and ye mystery of the vii. starres which thou sawest in my ryght honde and the vii. golden candelstyckes. The vii. stares are the messengers of the vii. congregacios: And the vii. candlestyckes which thou sawest are the vii. congregacions. NIV 20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
