Revelation 3

NLT 1 "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars:" "I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive -- but you are dead. NIV 1 "To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. NLT 2 Now wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is at the point of death. Your deeds are far from right in the sight of God. NIV 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. NLT 3 Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly and turn to me again. Unless you do, I will come upon you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief." NIV 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. NLT 4 "Yet even in Sardis there are some who have not soiled their garments with evil deeds. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. NIV 4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. NLT 5 All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine. NIV 5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. NLT 6 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches." NIV 6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. NLT 7 "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true. He is the one who has the key of David. He opens doors, and no one can shut them; he shuts doors, and no one can open them." NIV 7 "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. NLT 8 "I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can shut. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. NIV 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. NLT 9 Look! I will force those who belong to Satan -- those liars who say they are Jews but are not -- to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love." NIV 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. NLT 10 "Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. NIV 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. NLT 11 Look, I am coming quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. NIV 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. NLT 12 All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write my God's name on them, and they will be citizens in the city of my God -- the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And they will have my new name inscribed upon them. NIV 12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. NLT 13 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches." NIV 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. NLT 14 "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the one who is the Amen -- the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation:" NIV 14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. NLT 15 "I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were one or the other! NIV 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! NLT 16 But since you are like lukewarm water, I will spit you out of my mouth! NIV 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. NLT 17 You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. NIV 17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. NLT 18 I advise you to buy gold from me -- gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. And also buy white garments so you will not be shamed by your nakedness. And buy ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. NIV 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. NLT 19 I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference." NIV 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. NLT 20 "Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends. NIV 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. NLT 21 I will invite everyone who is victorious to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. NIV 21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. NLT 22 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches." NIV 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
