NRS 14 "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the origin of God's creation: NIV 14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. NRS 15 "I know your works; you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were either cold or hot. NIV 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! NRS 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spit you out of my mouth. NIV 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. NRS 17 For you say, "I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing.' You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. NIV 17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. NRS 18 Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich; and white robes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen; and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. NIV 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. NRS 19 I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. NIV 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. NRS 20 Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me. NIV 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. NRS 21 To the one who conquers I will give a place with me on my throne, just as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. NIV 21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. NRS 22 Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches." NIV 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
