1 El peligro de juzgar<br />Acepten a los creyentes que son débiles en la fe y no discutan acerca de lo que ellos consideran bueno o malo.

2 Por ejemplo, un creyente piensa que está bien comer de todo; pero otro creyente, con una conciencia sensible, come solo verduras.

3 Los que se sienten libres para comer de todo no deben menospreciar a los que no sienten la misma libertad; y los que no comen determinados alimentos no deben juzgar a los que sí los comen, porque a esos hermanos Dios los ha aceptado.

4 ¿Quién eres tú para juzgar a los sirvientes de otro? Su amo dirá si quedan en pie o caen; y con la ayuda del Señor, quedarán en pie y recibirán la aprobación de él.

5 Del mismo modo, algunos piensan que un día es más sagrado que otro, mientras que otros creen que todos los días son iguales. Cada uno debería estar plenamente convencido de que el día que elija es aceptable.

6 Los que adoran al Señor un día en particular lo hacen para honrarlo a él. Los que comen toda clase de alimentos lo hacen para honrar al Señor, ya que le dan gracias a Dios antes de comer. Y los que se niegan a comer ciertos alimentos también quieren agradar al Señor y le dan gracias a Dios.

7 Pues no vivimos para nosotros mismos ni morimos para nosotros mismos.

8 Si vivimos, es para honrar al Señor, y si morimos, es para honrar al Señor. Entonces, tanto si vivimos como si morimos, pertenecemos al Señor.

9 Cristo murió y resucitó con este propósito: ser Señor de los vivos y de los muertos.

10 ¿Por qué, entonces, juzgas a otro creyente?<br /> ¿Por qué menosprecias a otro creyente? Recuerda que todos estaremos delante del tribunal de Dios.

11 Pues dicen las Escrituras:<br />«Tan cierto como que yo vivo, dice el Señor<br />,<br />toda rodilla se doblará ante mí,<br />y toda lengua confesará a Dios y le dará alabanza<br />».

12 Es cierto, cada uno de nosotros tendrá que responder por sí mismo ante Dios.

13 Así que dejemos de juzgarnos unos a otros. Por el contrario, propónganse vivir de tal manera que no causen tropiezo ni caída a otro creyente.

14 Yo sé —y estoy convencido por la autoridad del Señor Jesús— que ningún alimento en sí mismo está mal; pero si alguien piensa que está mal comerlo, entonces, para esa persona, está mal.

15 Si otro creyente se angustia por lo que tú comes, entonces no actúas con amor si lo comes. No permitas que lo que tú comes destruya a alguien por quien Cristo murió.

16 Entonces no serás criticado por hacer algo que tú crees que es bueno.

17 Pues el reino de Dios no se trata de lo que comemos o bebemos, sino de llevar una vida de bondad, paz y alegría en el Espíritu Santo.

18 Si tú sirves a Cristo con esa actitud, agradarás a Dios y también tendrás la aprobación de los demás.

19 Por lo tanto, procuremos que haya armonía en la iglesia y tratemos de edificarnos unos a otros.

20 No destruyas la obra de Dios a causa de lo que comes. Recuerda que todos los alimentos están permitidos; lo malo es comer algo que haga tropezar a otro.

21 Es mejor no comer carne ni beber vino ni hacer ninguna otra cosa que pudiera causar tropiezo a otro creyente.

22 Tal vez crees que no hay nada malo en lo que haces, pero mantenlo entre tú y Dios. Benditos son los que no se sienten culpables por hacer algo que han decidido que es correcto.

23 Pero si tienes dudas acerca de si debes o no comer algo en particular, entonces es pecado comerlo, pues no eres fiel a tus convicciones. Si haces algo que crees que está mal, pecas.

1 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.

4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.

6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.

8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

11 It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ”

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

14 I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.

15 If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.

16 Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.

22 So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
