Romans 10:11-21

NRS 11 The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame." NIV 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." NRS 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him. NIV 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, NRS 13 For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." NIV 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." NRS 14 But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? NIV 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? NRS 15 And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" NIV 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" NRS 16 But not all have obeyed the good news; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" NIV 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" NRS 17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. NIV 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. NRS 18 But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have; for "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world." NIV 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." NRS 19 Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, "I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry." NIV 19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, "I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding." NRS 20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, "I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me." NIV 20 And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me." NRS 21 But of Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people." NIV 21 But concerning Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people."
