Romans 12

WBT 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. NIV 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. WBT 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God. NIV 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. WBT 3 For through the grace given to me, I say, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. NIV 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. WBT 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: NIV 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, WBT 5 So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. NIV 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. WBT 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith; NIV 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. WBT 7 Or ministry, [let us wait] on [our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching: NIV 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; WBT 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, [let him do it] with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness. NIV 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. WBT 9 [Let] love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. NIV 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. WBT 10 [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; NIV 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. WBT 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; NIV 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. WBT 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing earnest in prayer; NIV 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. WBT 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. NIV 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. WBT 14 Bless them who persecute you; bless, and curse not. NIV 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. WBT 15 Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep. NIV 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. WBT 16 [Be] of the same mind one towards another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. NIV 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. WBT 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. NIV 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. WBT 18 If [it is] possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. NIV 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. WBT 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place to wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. NIV 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. WBT 20 Therefore if thy enemy hungereth, feed him; if he thirsteth, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. NIV 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." WBT 21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NIV 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
