Romans 14:6-16

NLT 6 Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. NIV 6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. NLT 7 For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. NIV 7 For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. NLT 8 If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. NIV 8 If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. NLT 9 Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead. NIV 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. NLT 10 So why do you condemn another believer ? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. NIV 10 You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. NLT 11 For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the LORD , ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God. ’” NIV 11 It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' " NLT 12 Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. NIV 12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. NLT 13 So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. NIV 13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. NLT 14 I know and am convinced on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. NIV 14 As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. NLT 15 And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. NIV 15 If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. NLT 16 Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good. NIV 16 Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.
