CJB 1 I am introducing to you our sister Phoebe, shammash of the congregation at Cenchrea, NIV 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea. CJB 2 so that you may welcome her in the Lord, as God's people should, and give her whatever assistance she may need from you; for she has been a big help to many people - including myself. NIV 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me. CJB 3 Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers for the Messiah Yeshua. NIV 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. CJB 4 They risked their necks to save my life; not only I thank them, but also all the Messianic communities among the Gentiles. NIV 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. CJB 5 And give my greetings to the congregation that meets in their house. Give my greetings to my dear friend Epaenetus, who was the first person in the province of Asia to put his trust in the Messiah. NIV 5 Greet also the church that meets at their house. CJB 10 Greetings to Appeles, whose trust in the Messiah has been tested and proved. Greet those in the household of Aristobulus. NIV 10 Greet Apelles, tested and approved in Christ. CJB 11 Greet my relative, Herodion. NIV 11 Greet Herodion, my relative. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord. CJB 12 Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, women who are working hard for the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has done a lot of hard work for the Lord. NIV 12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord. CJB 13 Greet Rufus, chosen by the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me too. NIV 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too. CJB 17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put snares alongside the teaching in which you have been trained - keep away from them. NIV 17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. CJB 18 For men like these are not serving our Lord the Messiah but their own belly; by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the innocent. NIV 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. CJB 19 For everyone has heard about your obedience; therefore I rejoice over you. However, I want you to be wise concerning good, but innocent concerning evil. NIV 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. CJB 20 And God, the source of shalom, will soon crush the Adversary under your feet. The grace of our Lord Yeshua be with you. NIV 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. CJB 21 Timothy, my fellow-worker, sends greetings to you; so do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my relatives. NIV 21 Timothy, my fellow worker, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my relatives. CJB 22 I, Tertius, the one writing down this letter, greet you in the Lord. NIV 22 I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord. CJB 23 My host Gaius, in whose home the whole congregation meets, greets you. Erastus the city treasurer and brother Quartus greet you. NIV 23 Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city's director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings. CJB 24 CJB 25 Now to God, who can strengthen you, according to my Good News, in harmony with the revelation of the secret truth which is the proclamation of Yeshua the Messiah, kept hidden in silence for ages and ages, NIV 25 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, CJB 26 but manifested now through prophetic writings, in keeping with the command of God the Eternal, and communicated to all the Gentiles to promote in them trust-grounded obedience - to the only wise God, through Yeshua the Messiah, be the glory forever and ever!
