LEB 1 Now I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is also a servant of the church in Cenchrea, NIV 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea. LEB 2 in order that you may welcome her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever task she may have need from you, for she herself also has been a helper of many, even me myself. NIV 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me. LEB 3 Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, NIV 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. LEB 4 who risked their own necks for my life, for which not only I am thankful, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; NIV 4 They risked their lives for me. LEB 13 Greet Rufus, the chosen one in the Lord, and his mother and mine. NIV 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too. LEB 17 Now I exhort you, brothers, to look out for those who cause dissensions and temptations contrary to the teaching which you learned, and stay away from them. NIV 17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. LEB 18 For such people do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own stomach, and by smooth speech and flattery they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. NIV 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. LEB 19 For [the report of] your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, and I want you to be wise toward what [is] good, but innocent toward what [is] evil. NIV 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. LEB 20 And in a short time the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. NIV 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. LEB 21 Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my compatriots. Erastus, who is the city's director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings. LEB 24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with all of you. Amen.
