TMB 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle and separated unto the Gospel of God, NIV 1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God-- TMB 2 which He had promised before by His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, NIV 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures TMB 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, NIV 3 regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, TMB 4 and was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, NIV 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. TMB 5 by whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, NIV 5 Through him and for his name's sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith. TMB 6 among whom ye also are the called of Jesus Christ. NIV 6 And you also are among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. TMB 7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. NIV 7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. TMB 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. NIV 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. TMB 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the Gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers, NIV 9 God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you TMB 10 making request that now at length and by any means I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. NIV 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God's will the way may be opened for me to come to you. TMB 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift to the end that ye may be established: NIV 11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong-- TMB 12 that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith of both you and me. NIV 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith. TMB 13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I have purposed to come unto you (but was prevented hitherto), that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. NIV 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles. TMB 14 I am debtor both to the Greeks and to the barbarians, both to the wise and to the unwise; NIV 14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. TMB 15 so, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the Gospel to you also who are at Rome. NIV 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome.
