Romans 1:18-32

BBE 18 For there is a revelation of the wrath of God from heaven against all the wrongdoing and evil thoughts of men who keep down what is true by wrongdoing; NIV 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, BBE 19 Because the knowledge of God may be seen in them, God having made it clear to them. NIV 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. BBE 20 For from the first making of the world, those things of God which the eye is unable to see, that is, his eternal power and existence, are fully made clear, he having given the knowledge of them through the things which he has made, so that men have no reason for wrongdoing: NIV 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. BBE 21 Because, having the knowledge of God, they did not give glory to God as God, and did not give praise, but their minds were full of foolish things, and their hearts, being without sense, were made dark. NIV 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. BBE 22 Seeming to be wise, they were in fact foolish, NIV 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools BBE 23 And by them the glory of the eternal God was changed and made into the image of man who is not eternal, and of birds and beasts and things which go on the earth. NIV 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. BBE 24 For this reason God gave them up to the evil desires of their hearts, working shame in their bodies with one another: NIV 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. BBE 25 Because by them the true word of God was changed into that which is false, and they gave worship and honour to the thing which is made, and not to him who made it, to whom be blessing for ever. So be it. NIV 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. BBE 26 For this reason God gave them up to evil passions, and their women were changing the natural use into one which is unnatural: NIV 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. BBE 27 And in the same way the men gave up the natural use of the woman and were burning in their desire for one another, men doing shame with men, and getting in their bodies the right reward of their evil-doing. NIV 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. BBE 28 And because they had not the mind to keep God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an evil mind, to do those things which are not right; NIV 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. BBE 29 Being full of all wrongdoing, evil, desire for the goods of others, hate, envy, putting to death, fighting, deceit, cruel ways, evil talk, and false statements about others; NIV 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, BBE 30 Hated by God, full of pride, without respect, full of loud talk, given to evil inventions, not honouring father or mother, NIV 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; BBE 31 Without knowledge, not true to their undertakings, unkind, having no mercy: NIV 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. BBE 32 Who, though they have knowledge of the law of God, that the fate of those who do these things is death, not only go on doing these things themselves, but give approval to those who do them. NIV 32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
