Romans 3:27-31

RSV 27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On the principle of works? No, but on the principle of faith. NIV 27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. RSV 28 For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of law. NIV 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. RSV 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, NIV 29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, RSV 30 since God is one; and he will justify the circumcised on the ground of their faith and the uncircumcised through their faith. NIV 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. RSV 31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. NIV 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
