1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, sopra Seminit SALVA, Signore; perciocchè gli uomini pii son venuti meno, Ed i veraci son mancati fra i figliuoli degli uomini.

2 Ciascuno parla con menzogna col suo prossimo, Con labbra lusinghiere; Parlano con un cuor doppio.

3 Il Signore ricida tutte le labbra lusinghiere, La lingua che parla altieramente;

4 Di coloro che dicono: Noi sarem padroni colle nostre lingue; Le nostre labbra sono appo noi; Chi è signore sopra noi?

5 Per la desolazione de’ poveri afflitti, per le strida de’ bisognosi, Ora mi leverò, dice il Signore; Io metterò in salvo quelli contro a cui coloro parlano audacemente.

6 Le parole del Signore son parole pure, Argento affinato nel fornello di terra, Purgato per sette volte.

7 Tu, Signore, guarda coloro; Preservali da questa generazione in perpetuo.

8 Gli empi vanno attorno, Quando i più vili d’infra i figliuoli degli uomini sono innalzati.

1 Help, LORD, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.

2 Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.

3 May the LORD silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue—

4 those who say, “By our tongues we will prevail; our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”

5 “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”

6 And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.

7 You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,

8 who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.
