1 ¡Aleluya! Dad gracias al SEÑOR, porque es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.

Praise the LORD.Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
2 ¿Quién puede relatar los poderosos hechos del SEÑOR, o expresar toda su alabanza?

Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORDor fully declare his praise?
3 Bienaventurados los que guardan el juicio, los que practican la justicia en todo tiempo.

Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.
4 Acuérdate de mí, oh SEÑOR, en tu bondad hacia tu pueblo; visítame con tu salvación,

Remember me, LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,
5 para que yo vea la prosperidad de tus escogidos, para que me regocije en la alegría de tu nación, para que me gloríe con tu heredad .

that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.
6 Nosotros hemos pecado como nuestros padres, hemos hecho iniquidad, nos hemos conducido impíamente.

We have sinned, even as our ancestors did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.
7 Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; no se acordaron de tu infinito amor, sino que se rebelaron junto al mar, en el mar Rojo.

When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.
8 No obstante, los salvó por amor de su nombre, para manifestar su poder.

Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.
9 Reprendió, pues, al mar Rojo, y se secó; y los condujo por las profundidades, como por un desierto.

He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert.
10 Los salvó de mano del que los odiaba, y los redimió de mano del enemigo.

He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.
11 Las aguas cubrieron a sus adversarios, ni uno de ellos escapó.

The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived.
12 Entonces creyeron en sus palabras, y cantaron su alabanza.

Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.
13 Pero pronto se olvidaron de sus obras; no esperaron su consejo.

But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.
14 Tuvieron apetitos desenfrenados en el desierto, y tentaron a Dios en las soledades.

In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wilderness they put God to the test.
15 El les concedió lo que pedían, pero envió una plaga mortal sobre ellos.

So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.
16 Cuando en el campamento tuvieron envidia de Moisés, y de Aarón, el santo del SEÑOR,

In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the LORD.
17 la tierra se abrió y tragó a Datán, y se cerró sobre el grupo de Abiram.

The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it buried the company of Abiram.
18 Un fuego ardió contra su grupo, la llama consumió a los impíos.

Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.
19 Hicieron un becerro en Horeb, y adoraron una imagen de fundición;

At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal.
20 cambiaron su gloria por la imagen de un buey que come hierba.

They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.
21 Se olvidaron de Dios su Salvador, que había hecho grandes cosas en Egipto,

They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,
22 maravillas en la tierra de Cam, y cosas asombrosas en el mar Rojo.

miracles in the land of Ham and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
23 El dijo que los hubiera destruido, de no haberse puesto Moisés, su escogido, en la brecha delante de El, a fin de apartar su furor para que no los destruyera.

So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.
24 Aborrecieron la tierra deseable, no creyeron en su palabra,

Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.
25 sino que murmuraron en sus tiendas, y no escucharon la voz del SEÑOR.

They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD.
26 Por tanto, les juró abatirlos en el desierto,
26
So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness,
27 y esparcir su simiente entre las naciones, y dispersarlos por las tierras.
27
make their descendants fall among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands.
28 Se unieron también a Baal-peor, y comieron sacrificios ofrecidos a los muertos.
28
They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods;
29 Le provocaron, pues, a ira con sus actos, y la plaga se desató entre ellos.

they aroused the LORD’s anger by their wicked deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
30 Entonces Finees se levantó e intervino, y cesó la plaga.

But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked.
31 Y le fue contado por justicia por todas las generaciones para siempre.

This was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come.
32 También le hicieron enojarse en las aguas de Meriba , y le fue mal a Moisés por culpa de ellos,

By the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them;
33 puesto que fueron rebeldes contra su Espíritu, y él habló precipitadamente con sus labios.

for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses’ lips.
34 No destruyeron a los pueblos, como el SEÑOR les había mandado,
34
They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,
35 sino que se mezclaron con las naciones, aprendieron sus costumbres ,
35
but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.
36 y sirvieron a sus ídolos que se convirtieron en lazo para ellos.
36
They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
37 Sacrificaron a sus hijos y a sus hijas a los demonios,
37
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods.
38 y derramaron sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, a quienes sacrificaron a los ídolos de Canaán, y la tierra fue contaminada con sangre.

They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.
39 Así se contaminaron en sus costumbres , y fueron infieles en sus hechos.

They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.
40 Entonces se encendió la ira del SEÑOR contra su pueblo, y El aborreció su heredad.

Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.
41 Los entregó en mano de las naciones, y los que los aborrecían se enseñorearon sobre ellos.

He gave them into the hands of the nations, and their foes ruled over them.
42 Sus enemigos también los oprimieron, y fueron subyugados bajo su poder.
42
Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power.
43 Muchas veces los libró; ellos, sin embargo, fueron rebeldes a su consejo, y se hundieron en su iniquidad.

Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin.
44 Sin embargo, El vio su angustia al escuchar su clamor;

Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry;
45 y por amor a ellos se acordó de su pacto, y se arrepintió conforme a la grandeza de su misericordia.

for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.
46 Les hizo también objeto de compasión en presencia de todos los que los tenían cautivos.

He caused all who held them captive to show them mercy.
47 Sálvanos, oh SEÑOR, Dios nuestro, y reúnenos de entre las naciones, para dar gracias a tu santo nombre, y para gloriarnos en tu alabanza.

Save us, LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.
48 Bendito sea el SEÑOR, Dios de Israel, desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad. Y todo el pueblo diga: Amén. ¡Aleluya!

Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the LORD.
