1 Entonces Moisés respondió, y dijo: He aquí que ellos no me creerán, ni oirán mi voz; porque dirán: No se te ha aparecido el SEÑOR.

Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you’?”
2 Y el SEÑOR le dijo: ¿Qué <I>es</I> eso <I>que tienes</I> en tu mano? Y él respondió: <I>Una</I> vara.

Then the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied.
3 Y él le dijo: Echala en tierra. Y él la echó en tierra, y se tornó una culebra; y Moisés huía de ella.

The LORD said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.
4 Entonces dijo el SEÑOR a Moisés: Extiende tu mano, y tómala por la cola. Y él extendió su mano, y la tomó, y se tornó vara en su mano.

Then the LORD said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand.
5 Por esto creerán que se te ha aparecido el SEÑOR Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, y Dios de Jacob.

“This,” said the LORD, “is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”
6 Y le dijo además el SEÑOR: Mete ahora tu mano en tu seno. Y él metió la mano en su seno; y cuando la sacó, he aquí que su mano <I>estaba</I> leprosa como la nieve.

Then the LORD said, “Put your hand inside your cloak.” So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, the skin was leprous —it had become as white as snow.
7 Y dijo: Vuelve a meter tu mano en tu seno; y él volvió a meter su mano en su seno; y volviéndola a sacar del seno, he aquí que se había vuelto como la otra carne.

“Now put it back into your cloak,” he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.
8 Si aconteciere, que no te creyeren, ni oyeren la voz de la primera señal, creerán a la voz de la postrera.

Then the LORD said, “If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first sign, they may believe the second.
9 Y si aún no creyeren a estas dos señales, ni oyeren tu voz, tomarás de las aguas del río, y las derramarás en tierra; y se volverán aquellas aguas que tomarás del río, se volverán sangre en la tierra.

But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground.”
10 Entonces dijo Moisés al SEÑOR: ¡Ruego Señor! <I>Yo</I> no soy hombre de palabras de ayer ni de anteayer, ni aun desde que tú hablas a tu siervo; porque soy pesado de boca y pesado de lengua.

Moses said to the LORD, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
11 Y el SEÑOR le respondió: ¿Quién dio la boca al hombre? ¿O quién hizo al mudo y al sordo, al que ve y al ciego? ¿No <I>soy</I> yo el SEÑOR?

The LORD said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
12 Ahora pues, ve, que yo seré en tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que hayas de hablar.

Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
13 Y él dijo: ¡Ruego Señor! Envía por mano <I>del que</I> has de enviar.

But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
14 Entonces el SEÑOR se enojó contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿No conozco <I>yo</I> a tu hermano Aarón, levita, y que él habla bien? Y aun he aquí que él te saldrá a recibir, y viéndote, se alegrará de su corazón.

Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you.
15 Tú hablarás a él, y pondrás en su boca las palabras, y yo seré en tu boca y en la suya, y os enseñaré lo que hayáis de hacer.

You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.
16 Y él hablará por ti al pueblo; y él te será por boca, y tú serás a él por Dios.
16
He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.
17 Y tomarás esta vara en tu mano, con la cual harás las señales.

But take this staff in your hand so you can perform the signs with it.”
18 Así se fue Moisés, y volviendo a su suegro Jetro, le dijo: Iré ahora, y volveré a mis hermanos que <I>están</I> en Egipto, para ver si aún viven. Y Jetro dijo a Moisés: Ve en paz.

Then Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, “Let me return to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive.” Jethro said, “Go, and I wish you well.”
19 Dijo también el SEÑOR a Moisés en Madián: Ve, y vuélvete a Egipto, porque han muerto todos los que procuraban tu muerte.

Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all those who wanted to kill you are dead.”
20 Entonces Moisés tomó su mujer y sus hijos, y los puso sobre <I>un</I> asno, y volvió a tierra de Egipto; tomó también Moisés la vara de Dios en su mano.

So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand.
21 Y dijo el SEÑOR a Moisés: Cuando hubiereis vuelto a Egipto, mira que hagas delante del Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano; pero yo endureceré su corazón, de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.

The LORD said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
22 Y dirás al Faraón: El SEÑOR ha dicho así: Israel <I>es</I> mi hijo, mi primogénito.

Then say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son,
23 Y <I>yo</I> te he dicho que dejes ir a mi hijo, para que me sirva, mas no has querido dejarlo ir; <I>por tanto</I> , he aquí yo mato a tu hijo, tu primogénito.

and I told you, “Let my son go, so he may worship me.” But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.’ ”
24 Y aconteció en el camino, que en una posada lo encontró el SEÑOR, y quiso matarlo.

At a lodging place on the way, the LORD met Moses and was about to kill him.
25 Entonces Séfora arrebató un pedernal, y cortó el prepucio de su hijo, y lo echó a sus pies, diciendo: Porque tú me eres esposo de sangre.

But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it. “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me,” she said.
26 Entonces se apartó de él. Y ella <I>le</I> dijo: Esposo de sangre, a causa de la circuncisión.

So the LORD let him alone. (At that time she said “bridegroom of blood,” referring to circumcision.)
27 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Aarón: Ve a recibir a Moisés al desierto. Y él fue, y lo encontró en el monte de Dios, y le besó.

The LORD said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he met Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him.
28 Entonces contó Moisés a Aarón todas las palabras del SEÑOR que le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había dado.

Then Moses told Aaron everything the LORD had sent him to say, and also about all the signs he had commanded him to perform.
29 Y fueron Moisés y Aarón, y juntaron todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel.

Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites,
30 Y habló Aarón todas las palabras que el SEÑOR había dicho a Moisés, e hizo las señales delante de los ojos del pueblo.

and Aaron told them everything the LORD had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people,
31 Y el pueblo creyó; y oyendo que el SEÑOR había visitado los hijos de Israel, y que había visto su aflicción, se inclinaron y adoraron.

and they believed. And when they heard that the LORD was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.
