2 Crónicas 29:1-9

1 Y Ezequías comenzó a reinar siendo de veinticinco años, y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Abías, hija de Zacarías.

2 E hizo lo recto en ojos del SEÑOR, conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho David su padre.

3 En el primer año de su reino, en el mes primero, abrió las puertas de la Casa del SEÑOR, y las reparó.

4 E hizo venir los sacerdotes y levitas, y los juntó en la plaza oriental.

5 Y les dijo: Oídme, levitas, y santificaos ahora, y santificaréis la Casa del SEÑOR Dios de vuestros padres, y sacaréis del santuario la inmundicia.

6 Porque nuestros padres se han rebelado, y han hecho lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR nuestro Dios; que le dejaron, y apartaron sus ojos del tabernáculo del SEÑOR, y le volvieron las espaldas.

7 Y aun cerraron las puertas del pórtico, y apagaron las lámparas; no quemaron incienso, ni sacrificaron holocausto en el santuario al Dios de Israel.

8 Por tanto la ira del SEÑOR ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a turbación, y a execración y escarnio, como veis vosotros con vuestros ojos.

9 Y he aquí nuestros padres han caído a cuchillo, nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas y nuestras mujeres son cautivas por esto.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CHRONICLES 29

This chapter begins with the good reign of Hezekiah, who upon his accession to the throne opened the doors of the temple, 2Ch 29:1-3, summoned the priests and Levites, and exhorted them to purge the temple, and restore the worship of it, 2Ch 29:4-11, who accordingly set about the work immediately, and cleansed the temple, and, when they had done, reported it to the king, 2Ch 29:12-19 upon which he, with the princes, went into the temple and offered sacrifices, 2Ch 29:20-24 and ordered singers to sing at the offering of burnt offerings, 2Ch 29:25-30 when he and his people offered burnt offerings and peace offerings in great abundance, 2Ch 29:31-36.
