2 Chronicles 10:18

18 King Rehoboam sent out Adoniram, who was in charge of forced labor, but the Israelites stoned him to death. King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem.

2 Chronicles 13:20

20 Jeroboam did not regain power during the time of Abijah. And the LORD struck him down and he died.

Because Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of the priest Jehoiada, was Ahaziah’s sister, she hid the child from Athaliah so she could not kill him.
