And they alltookhold of 2Sosthenes, 3the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of 4the judgmentseat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of thesethings.

Paul, having remainedmanydayslonger, 5tookleave of 6the brethren and put out to sea for 7Syria, and with him were 8Priscilla and 9Aquila. In 10Cenchrea he 11had his haircut, for he was keeping a vow.

They came to 12Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himselfentered13the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

When they asked him to stay for a longertime, he did not consent,

but 14takingleave of them and saying, "I will return to you again15if Godwills," he setsail from 16Ephesus.

When he had landed at 17Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and wentdown to 18Antioch.

23 And having spentsometime there, he left and passedsuccessivelythrough the 19Galatianregion and Phrygia, strengtheningall the disciples.

Now a Jewnamed20Apollos, an 21Alexandrian by birth, an eloquentman, came to 22Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.

Thisman had beeninstructed in 23the way of the Lord; and beingfervent in spirit, he was speaking and teachingaccurately the things concerningJesus, beingacquaintedonly with 24the baptism of John;

and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when 25Priscilla and Aquilaheard him, they took him aside and explained to him 26the way of Godmoreaccurately.
