29
I
1know that after my departure
2fierce wolves will come in among you,
3not sparing the flock;
30
and
4from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31
Therefore
5be alert, remembering that
6for three years I did not cease night or day
7to admonish everyone
8with tears.
32
And now
9I commend you to God and to
10the word of his grace, which is able to
11build you up and to give you
12the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33
13I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
34
14You yourselves know that
15these hands ministered to my necessities and
16to those who were with me.
35
In all things
17I have shown you that
18by working hard in this way we must
19help the weak and
20remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said,
'It is more blessed 21to give than to receive.'"
36
And when he had said these things,
22he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37
And
23there was much weeping on the part of all;
24they embraced Paul and
25kissed him,
38
being sorrowful most of all because of
26the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And
27they accompanied him to the ship.
