And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with allwho were in his house.

And he took them 1that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.

And he brought them into his house and setfoodbefore them, and rejoicedgreatly, having believed in God with 2his wholehousehold.

Now when daycame, the chiefmagistratessent their policemen, saying, "Releasethosemen."

And 3the jailerreportedthesewords to Paul, saying, "The chiefmagistrates have sent to release you. Thereforecome out now and go4in peace."

But Paulsaid to them, "They have beaten us in publicwithouttrial, 5men who are Romans, and have thrown us into prison; and now are they sending us awaysecretly? Noindeed! But let them comethemselves and bring us out."

The policemenreportedthesewords to the chiefmagistrates. 6They were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

and they came and appealed to them, and when they had brought them out, they kept begging them 7to leave the city.

They went out of the prison and entered the house of 8Lydia, and when they saw9the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.
