Luke 6:22-32

22 "Blessed are you when ¹people hate you and when they ²exclude you and revile you and ³spurn your name as evil, ⁴on account of the Son of Man!

23 ⁵Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for ⁶so their fathers did to the prophets.

Jesus Pronounces Woes

24 ⁷"But woe to you who are rich, ⁸for you ⁹have received your consolation.

25 "Woe to you who are full now, for ¹⁰you shall be hungry. "Woe to ¹¹you who laugh now, ¹²for you shall mourn and weep.

26 "Woe to you, ¹³when all people speak well of you, for ¹⁴so their fathers did to ¹⁵the false prophets.

Love Your Enemies

27 "But I say to you who hear, ¹⁶Love your enemies, ¹⁷do good to those who hate you,

28 ¹⁸bless those who curse you, ¹⁹pray for those who abuse you.

29 ²⁰To one who ²¹strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic^[a] either.

30 ²²Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

31 And ²³as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

32 ²⁴"If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
