where he stayed three months. Because the Jews made a plot against him1 just as he was about to sail for Syria,2 he decided to go back through Macedonia.3
He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus4 and Secundus from Thessalonica,5 Gaius6 from Derbe, Timothy7 also, and Tychicus8 and Trophimus9 from the province of Asia.10
These men went on ahead and waited for us11 at Troas.12
But we sailed from Philippi13 after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas,14 where we stayed seven days.
