And when he was called forth , Tertullusbegan to accuse him, saying , Seeing that bythee we enjoygreatquietness,and that very worthy deeds are done unto thisnationbythyprovidence,

Weaccept it always,and in all places, most nobleFelix,withallthankfulness.

Notwithstanding,that I benot*furthertedious unto thee, I praythee that thou wouldest hearus of thyclemency a few words.

For we have foundthisman a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jewsthroughout the world,and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

Whoalso hath gone about to profane the temple* : whom we took , andwould have judgedaccording to ourlaw.

But the chief captainLysiascame upon us, and withgreatviolence took him away out ofourhands,
