For we have foundthisman a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jewsthroughout the world,and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

Whoalso hath gone about to profane the temple* : whom we took , andwould have judgedaccording to ourlaw.

But the chief captainLysiascame upon us, and withgreatviolence took him away out ofourhands,

Commandinghisaccusers to comeuntothee: by examiningofwhomthyselfmayest take knowledgeofall these things,whereofweaccusehim.

And the Jewsalsoassented , saying that these thingswereso.

ThenPaul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak , answered , Forasmuch as I know that thou hast beenofmanyyears a judge unto thisnation, I do the more cheerfullyanswerformyself:

Because that thoumayestunderstand , that there are yet but*twelvedays*since*I went uptoJerusalem for to worship .

And they neitherfoundmein the templedisputingwith any man,neither raising up* the people*, neitherin the synagogues,norin the city:

Neithercan they prove* the thingswhereoftheynowaccuseme.

Butthis I confess unto thee,thatafter the waywhich they callheresy,so worship I the God of my fathers,believing all thingswhich are writtenin the lawandin the prophets:

And havehopetowardGod,whichtheythemselvesalsoallow , that there shall be* a resurrection of the dead,both of the justandunjust.
