So a secondtime they called the manwho had beenblind, and said to him, "1Giveglory to God; we know that 2thisman is a sinner."

He thenanswered, "Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; onething I do know, that though I was blind, now I see."

So they said to him, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?"

He answered them, "3I told you already and you did not 4listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciplestoo, do you?"

They reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but 5we are disciples of Moses.

"We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for thisman, 6we do not knowwhere He is from."

The mananswered and said to them, "Well, here* is an amazingthing, that you do not knowwhere He is from, and yet He opened my eyes.

"We know that 7God does not hearsinners; but ifanyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.

"Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyoneopened the eyes of a personbornblind.

"8Ifthisman were not from God, He coulddonothing*."

They answered him, "9You were bornentirely in sins, and are you teaching us?" So they 10put him out.
Jesus Affirms His Deity
35Jesusheard that they had 11put him out, and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the 12Son of Man?"

He answered, "13Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"

Jesussaid to him, "You have bothseen Him, and 14He is the one who is talking with you."

And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he 15worshiped Him.

And Jesussaid, "16For judgment I came into thisworld, so that 17those who do not see may see, and that 18those who see may becomeblind."

Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heardthesethings and said to Him, "19We are not blindtoo, are we?"

Jesussaid to them, "20If you were blind, you would havenosin; but since you say, '21We see,' your sinremains.
