He asked them, "Don't you catch on yet?"

As they came to Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus. They begged Jesus to touch him.

Jesus took the blind man's hand and led him out of the village. He spit into the man's eyes and placed his hands on him. Jesus asked him, "Can you see anything?"

The man looked up and said, "I see people. They look like trees walking around."

Then Jesus placed his hands on the man's eyes a second time, and the man saw clearly. His sight was normal again. He could see everything clearly even at a distance.

Jesus told him when he sent him home, "Don't go into the village."

Then Jesus and his disciples went to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say I am?"

They answered him, "Some say you are John the Baptizer, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets."

He asked them, "But who do you say I am?" Peter answered him, "You are the Messiah!"

He ordered them not to tell anyone about him.

Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man would have to suffer a lot. He taught them that he would be rejected by the leaders, the chief priests, and the scribes. He would be killed, but after three days he would come back to life.
