Proverbs 20:5-15

The purpose in a man's heart is like 1deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.
Many a man 2proclaims his own steadfast love, but 3a faithful man who can find?
The righteous who 4walks in his integrity-- 5blessed are his children after him!
6A king who sits on the throne of judgment 7winnows all evil with his eyes.
8Who can say, "I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin"?
9Unequal[a] weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the LORD.
Even a child 10makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.[b]
11The hearing ear and the seeing eye, 12the LORD has made them both.
13Love not sleep, lest you 14come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have 15plenty of bread.
"Bad, bad," says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts.
There is gold and abundance of 16costly stones, 17but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
