Salmos 135:6-16

6 Todo cuanto el SEÑOR quiere, lo hace, en los cielos y en la tierra, en los mares y en todos los abismos.

7 El hace subir las nubes desde los extremos de la tierra, hace los relámpagos para la lluvia y saca el viento de sus depósitos.

8 Hirió a los primogénitos de Egipto, tanto de hombre como de animal.

9 Envió señales y prodigios en medio de ti, oh Egipto, sobre Faraón y todos sus siervos.

10 Hirió a muchas naciones y mató a reyes poderosos;

11 a Sehón, rey de los amorreos, a Og, rey de Basán, y a todos los reinos de Canaán;

12 y dio sus tierras en herencia, en herencia a Israel su pueblo.

13 Tu nombre, SEÑOR, es eterno; tu memoria, SEÑOR, por todas las generaciones.

14 Porque el SEÑOR juzgará a su pueblo, y tendrá compasión de sus siervos.

15 Los ídolos de las naciones son plata y oro, obra de manos de hombre.

16 Tienen boca, y no hablan; tienen ojos, y no ven;

Salmos 135:6-16 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 135

This psalm was written very probably by the same hand as the former. It begins in much the same manner; it has some likeness with Psalm 113 and 114. It begins and ends with "hallelujah"; and is throughout an exhortation of praise to God, on account of his name, nature, and perfections; and because of his works of creation, providence, and grace, many of which are enumerated. The Syriac interpreter says, there is an intimation in it of the conversion of the people of the Messiah unto the faith.
