John Bonham was a patriot. He died at the Alamo along with Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, Colonel Travis and the rest. There at the Alamo they have a picture gallery of the men who died in that siege. But they don't have a picture of John Bonham. The reason is that no picture, or portrait, was ever made of John Bonham.

Rather than have him forgotten, they put up a picture of his nephew. Isn't that interesting? On the plaque it says, "No portrait of John Bonham exists so in its place has been placed a portrait of his nephew who greatly resembled him. It is put up here so that people will never forget the face of this one who died for freedom."

In a way we are the portrait of God to the world. Those of us who are Christians have said, "I want to conform to God's image of me. I may not be perfect, but I want God to mold me that I might become more like him."

Whether we like it or not, some people are going to judge God by how good of a Christian we are. The kind of life we lead will have an effect upon the decision of others.
